Heffner, who was 52, served as chief financial officer of FEA Industries, a Morton, Pa.-based wholesale lab, for the past 14 years. Prior to joining FEA, she was a senior accountant for the Philadelphia Electric company.
An integral part of FEA's management team, Heffner was responsible for capital budgeting and financial planning. In the last five years, FEA has grown from 200 jobs per day to over 1,000.

William Heffner, her husband and president of the lab.
In addition to her husband, Heffner is survived by her sons William and Michael and a daughter, Stefanie.
