Alex Incera has been appointed president of Gerber Coburn and corporate vice president, effective immediately. Incera replaces
Stephen Lovass who remains president of Gerber Scientific Products and senior vice president of Gerber Scientific, Inc. In addition,
Randall Baldwin has been appointed director of marketing and will be responsible for product management, marketing communications, and strategic marketing initiatives.
Incera joined the business unit as project manager in 1995 and was promoted to director of engineering in 1996. In 1999, he became vice resident of engineering, in 2006 he was appointed executive director of marketing and in February 2008 he was named general manager.
Baldwin joined the business unit as group product manager in 2001 and was promoted to director of surfacing and coating products in 2005. Prior to joining Gerber, Baldwin served as director of marketing at Pro-Laser North America Inc. |

The Optical Laboratories Association will honor Gordon
Keane, president of Digital Vision, Inc. (DVI) by presenting him with its 2008 Directors' Choice Award at its President's Banquet and Awards ceremony on Nov. 8. Keane founded DVI in 1983 to specialize in automating optical laboratories. He had spent several years working with Columbian Bifocal, developing and then managing the first widely used ophthalmic manufacturing and business software.
The Optical Laboratories Association will also be inducting 12 people into the OLA Hall of Fame for 2008. The Honorees are
Donna Benedict, Bruce Calhoun, Al de Rojas, Susan Crawley, Ray Knoll, Don Ruden, Steve Sutherlin, Art Waite, Gerald Ward. John Payne, Irving Rips and George Weber will be honored posthumously.

After 15 years with Eye Q and 50 years in the business, Bell will work on some consulting projects for the company over the next couple of years.

The board of directors for the Optical Women's Association (OWA) has named two new board members: industry veteran
Deborah Lochli McGrath and Karen Zappia, VP of sales for Live Eyewear. Lochli McGrath is currently an optical industry consultant and a spokesperson for The Vision Council. Zappia, who heads domestic and international sales for Live Eyewear, has been an active member of the OWA since 2003.
